Summary: Poem. He's there through good and bad times
Warnings: Strong emotional themes, hinted depression/mental anguish
(This is a m/f piece but I see no reason the sentiment wouldn't work just as well for a f/m, m/m, or f/f pairing.)
Weathering The Storm
He hates to see her like this
Angry at the world
Angry with herself
Often turning the anger inward
Sometimes weeping, sometimes numb
There aren't physical marks
Wounds he can tend
And sometimes nothing he says
Or does
Can help
He'd give anything
To be able to calm the storm
He tries
He tells her he loves her
He gives her hugs
He gives her space
He waits
The sun always comes out again
He knows this to be true
Even when she can't believe it
And he doesn't want to live without her
Without the joy she gives him
Their sunny days
Are worth every tempest they weather
And that's what he tells her most of all
This too shall pass and I'll still be here
Always
